Here is a demonstration of the "Link" command, which is used to create what is called a shortcut in later builds.

Interestingly, the task bar isn't really a task bar; it's designed to be a folder full of links to your most-used programs.

Most of the included applications are mostly unchanged from their 3.1 counterparts.
It is worth noting that the entirety of Chicago is still 16-bit, but it relies on new APIs that are not present in Windows 3.x, so none of these programs will run there.

There are of course a number of new programs as well. Such as this early version of the Hearts game.

Here is the bug reporting tool. I do find the inclusion of CompuServe interesting, but one has to remember this predates the Microsoft Network's existence. But what are you supposed to do if you use Prodigy? I guess they don't want to hear from you then. |
