
Another interesting thing is the lack of any kind of clock on the top bar. Instead there is a clock in the dock that can be set to either display the time on the dock or in a floating window, among other preferences. It is a separate application as well!

iTunes was not released yet, so instead the Public Beta includes a simple MP3 player, in addition to the already-included Quicktime.

The UNIX underpinnings have mostly been hidden away, but in certain programs (such as the Disk Utility), it is possible to see some of the old archaisms (the /dev folder for example) that are in fact still present. Most of these were hidden even further away in later versions of Mac OS X.
