8/23/2024-Finally added a banner to the NeXT page. Added a section for Apple II stuff. Replaced the Linux/Unix main banner; eventually all of the Linux banners will standardize on this. Replaced the screenshots for Windows XP with unmodified RTM Home Edition screenshots. Rewrote the Windows NT 3.1 review using new screenshots. Added screenshots of Haiku R1 Beta 4, Lisa Office System 3.1, A/UX Unix 3, Mac OS 8.1, Windows "Developer Release 5", Windows 1.00 Alpha and Beta, and Windows "Chicago" Build 58s.

8/10/2024-Finally a new update! Touched up the Windows "Premiere Edition" page. Removed the Chicago Build 56 pages as it turns out that build is a fake (should have noticed sooner, oops). Added screenshots of the "Creator's" Update of Windows 10 and Windows 11, which have both been sitting on my hard drive for a long time.

11/4/2020-It's been a while! The CSS for this section of the site, and the colour schemes, have all been changed to more closely match the new look for the main site. Fixed a few broken images and links on various pages. Cleaned up this news page a little bit. Redid the first page of Mac OS X 10.1 which evidently was not saved when I first wrote it. Fixed the CRT picture on the Windows 8 page, and a screenshot link on the Fedora Core 1 page. Updated links on the BeOS 5 Personal Edition, Windows 3.0 with Multimedia Extensions, Windows 10 and eComStation pages. Rewrote the OS X 10.5 and Windows 8.1 pages. Changed the Windows XP pages to indicate more regarding EOL and activation. Added screenshots of the original Personal Deskmate, Deskmate 3.69, the QNX 1989 demo floppy, ReactOS 0.4.0, Windows 9, OS/2 1.0, OS/2 1.3, Windows "Premiere Edition", Xandros Linux 3, and Puppy Linux 6.

3/26/2016-Hey, GUI Central is back! I decided that, what with my having recently gotten back into the whole "OS review" thing, I'd bring this back, because it's something I happen to like to do. To commemorate the occasion, I added screenshots of Windows 10, the new "worst OS ever".

10/3/2014-All images that were greater than 320 pixels wide (excluding thumbnailed images) have now been set as clickable thumbnails. Fixed a broken page counter on the OS/2 Warp 3 section. Fixed a couple broken screenshots on the OS/2 Warp 4 page. Added screenshots of Windows 8.1 "Update 1".

1/9/2014-Rewrote some backend-related stuff. Rewrote Ubuntu 10.04, my Linux Mint 13 reviews, Windows 3.0, Windows 3.0 with Multimedia Extensions, Windows ME, Windows 2000, and Windows Vista. Introduced a new way of managing sections, and rewrote my Solaris 10 10/09 review to take advantage of it. Added screenshots of the Mac OS X Public Beta, Linux Mint 3.1, Linux Mint Debian Edition 201012, Xubuntu 13.04, and Zorin OS 7.

12/26/2013-This was supposed to be a Christmas release, but I sort of missed that deadline so here you go. Humongous update! First things first, the color scheme has been completely changed! This change should soon be spread to all the other portions of this website. I also removed the ambiguous navigation thing I had at the top of the page, so the pages should be more compact.

12/21/2013-Happy [early] Holidays! To celebrate I have broken my own promise and some new crap has popped up. Rewrote GEOS for the C64, Linux Mint 11, and OS/2 Warp 4. Added screenshots of Fedora Core 1, SUSE 9.2, OS/2 1.1, and OS/2 Warp 3.

11/24/2013-Take three. Changed some site aspects around. Alot of pages have been removed, some may be back later. As for now, there are only a few of my reviews left for viewing while I fix up the rest.

11/8/2013-Added pages about ribbons vs menus. As promised, added screenshots of the Windows 8.1 Preview, as well as Longhorn 3683.

9/5/2013-Fixed a few of the Linux links. Added a few CSS features as well as screenshots of Android x86 and Windes xFeel.

8/6/2013-Added the new site navigator bar to all pages. Fixed the "You Are Here" banner links on the main Windows page, fixed the DOS image on the Windows 3.0 review, and replaced the Windows 95 Program Manager screenshot with one that is more appropriate. Added screenshots of OpenSUSE. Coming soon, the Windows 8.1 Preview!

7/12/2013-Fixed the broken Windows NT 4.0 link, redid my Windows 8 review for the release version, and added screenshots of NewDeal Office 3.2.

5/31/2013-Thanks to the person who reported the broken Ubuntu 12.10 link, as the first page was missing causing the break. Fixed that. Soon to come are some shots of the infamous Windows Longhorn (Vista Development Releases)!
