As you can see, it is practically identical to Windows XP, except for the branding and the default theme.

The start menu is mostly the same, although it's fairly obvious to tell that there is practically nothing bundled with it if you choose the default setup options, and understandably so.

The Explorer still has the same overall layout as XP.

I find it humorous that the about dialog reports that this is service pack 3. To the best of my knowledge, POSReady 2009 has no released service packs.
It's also amusing that it reports the CPU is overclocked slightly, which it is not.

POSReady 2009 uses the same updating framework as XP, which is what makes the backporting of updates possible. Although, Windows 7 was out around the time this came to fruition, so it's a wonder they're still using it. |
