There is a very rudimentary and not very useful settings app bundled as well for controlling the underlying XFCE.

And finally, shutting down Element.

Conclusion:
While Element is great, it was clear to see that there was quite a bit more work to do. And facing the competition from Myth.TV and Mythbuntu must have been too hard. Even still it is unfortunate Element was cancelled, but oh well.
