A look at the bog standard Linux terminal program, along with a few running applications in the dock.

There is a trash can icon in the dock, and things can simply be dragged and dropped to it. I'd prefer an icon on the desktop, but Mac OS X has had it in the dock for decades now.

Finally, here is the system monitor program, which has been significantly changed.

Shutting down Ubuntu DDE Remix.

Every time I went to shut down the system, it would stop me and complain about the "unattended upgrades" feature still running. Regular Ubuntu I believe is smart enough to stop it automatically, so I am not sure why that's not happening here.
Conclusion: DDE is definitely a different (and I would say quite good) take on the Ubuntu desktop experience, but otherwise isn't terrifically noteworthy in a sea of other Ubuntu derivative works. |
