It's long past time to take another look at ReactOS, the open-source project that attempts to be a re-implementation of Windows NT.
A list of (major, at least) things that have changed since last time:
- A build string now appears on the desktop, like with Windows betas.
- There is now a Japanese translation.
- Themes support!
- AHCI support.
- Ability to install to and boot from BTRFS volumes in addition to FAT32.
- Several command-line improvements.
It is important, of course, to note that the very much pre-alpha nature of ReactOS means it's nowhere near ready to go yet. Several things are still missing, most notably NTFS writing support.

Here you can see that you now get a choice to install on BTRFS partitions. I didn't try it, though.

The ReactOS splash screen, which hasn't changed.

A couple more new questions during the install process.

The default ReactOS desktop (well, almost default, I did install the VBox guest additions and the correct audio driver), which other than the build text is basically unchanged.
