I don't remember what it was called, but here is the CDE web browser, trying to display the Sun website.

This is the mail program, which upon first use asks you which kind of mailbox you use.

The help system used by the Common Desktop Environment.

This is the CDE lock dialog.

Finally, shutting down CDE.
Conclusion: CDE is much different from anything made today or even around the time period. It contains many features and many other ways of doing things unheard of in the Windows and Macintosh worlds. It is, however, a great server OS as it is simple and clean, with no extra clutter. And best of all no integrated web browser! (Well it comes with one but it's not used as the file manager now is it?) |
