
BeOS also bundles a lshw-style device probing utility. I'm not sure of the utility of such a thing though, it seems like maybe it's too much information.

BeOS makes use of a similar virtual desktop mechanism as Linux. You can control the number of workspaces you have, and each workspace can have its own screen resolution and desktop wallpaper.

Here's a nifty little graphics testing program. It would probably perform better if I wasn't using the "failsafe" software rendering driver.

BeOS also includes an online application downloading and installing utility called the Software Valet. I'd imagine it's long since stopped working. |
