Windows 8 Task Manager
Other than that, the new task manager is the only real difference in Windows 8.
Simplified is the only word that can describe this, but it is better than the old task manager.

Oh, and the fact that shutdown requires more clicks to get to. And it's under settings! Talk about poor placement...

Before I go, here is the obligatory screenshot of Windows 8 shutting YOU down! Oh how much yet how little has changed in close to 12 years...

Conclusion:
Windows 8 blows. There aren't any really enticing technical improvements with this version, and it gets rid of some critical functionality for desktop users. I will use it since it helps to know the UI, but I certainly won't be adopting it as an every day OS until Windows 7 goes end of life.
